glen doors
i've finally decided on the color for the front door of rising glen. I'm very excited about having a high gloss black door, i think it's gonna look great!
black doors are nice and sleek, very clean, and not "feminine" at all.
i'm kinda scared of going too feminine on some of the choices for the look of the house. i don't want to make the mistake of having making it look like a cake.
I found a really great and striking color combo, but it's much too bold and i don't have the balls to try it on my house.
the yellow door is amazing! i wish i had the courage to paint my front door that color!
next up.......
a sneak peek at the potential garage door....

the right colors...
i've been looking at colors for the exterior of the glen and i'm very pleased and excited with my top three choices. Here they go:
first, we have a GREY and ORANGE combination that i feel is comtemporary, edgy, and different, but not over the top. the orange would be used on the door of the house and the grey as the primary color. some other sort of off-white color would be used for details around the exterior.
second, we have a more girly choice which includes a GREY very similar to the previous, but the door would be LAVENDER instead of orange. What do you think? Too feminine?
thirdly, we have a more stricking color for the door, RED, and a primary color that is, again, in the neutral/GRAY family.
I'm really excited to be getting closer to the close of escrow. I'm ready to get my hands dirty with all the work that comes with purchasing and renovating a distraught home.

twins!!!
So, mami needs to remodel the guest room, bring it up to date and remove our four post beds from childhood. Here are some great ideas for her:

display it for all to see
So....the printed word is on it's way out, very sad occurence in this day in age. We're getting closer to the extinction of glossy, hard copy mags that fill my heart with joy. :(

assorted paint chips
I'm looking for ways to add color to walls without painting because i'm a bit of a commitment-phobe when it comes to color, well, PERMANENT color on walls. This seems like a great idea without the commitment. YAY!

wallpaper lovin'
I'm loving this idea for a wall. instead of paint, use wallpaper scarps. Not that i have any, but i can look for scraps via ebay, right?
